Argumentative Essay Topics On Interracial Relationships

Interracial Marriage

When people of two different races marry, their type of marriage is known as interracial marriage. This kind of marriage has existed in this 21st century, with new polls indicating that huge numbers of whites are marrying the blacks. Few countries have illegalized this issue while thousands of them have turned to experiment the new option. Countries that oppose this type of marriage are still living in the past. An example of such a state is Mississippi, whereby a recent survey indicated that 76% of the voters were considered to be very preservative. Through this, it is important to analyze the reasons for the delayed adoption of interracial marriage. Many families must have experienced a situation whereby their kids ask, “Dad, why am I different from mum?” and the vice versa. Getting to the underside of this matter might take some time. Often, children of interracial marriage get lost in cultural identity. Even though this is an important concept for children, the success of these children depends on the connection between the racial self- esteem and the child’s success. Again, children from this type of marriage find it hard to socialize. This is due to the fact that they have a culture of double heritage. A child will spend much of her time without noticing equal exposure to her two cultural heritages; father and mother.

Countries across the world have a slowed adoption to interracial marriage. This is as a result of the problems that are encountered. The society, in most countries, does not agree with the issue of interracial marriage. It would be uncomfortable to lead a life that is opposed by many in the community. This forms the negative society attitudes towards this issue. For example, it is probable to find that some couples consist of one side in which interracial marriage is approved, while on the other hand, interracial marriage is disapproved.

Being a modern initiative, interracial marriage has sought to explain the need to cut cultural boundaries and give an explanation of the cultural identities. However, many do not consent to this idea; hence oppose it by all means. Instead of becoming the biggest beneficiaries of the aspect, children tend to become the biggest losers since their level of concentration in their education is a bit low. The many opposers of this motion in different parts of the world also form the basis in which the issue can delay, not until the whole world becomes civilized on some specific matters such as this.

Interracial Dating Essay

Introduction: Two people of different races who originate from the same geographical location can share more than can two people of the same race who originate from different locations. How can that be? When we talk about a personality we can always interpret and even make a prognosis of the values of the person basing on the analysis of the surroundings. No matter what part of a country a person lives in and no matter what nationality he is – he will still be the reflection of the geographical area his lives in and carry the values that are widespread in this area. It is common knowledge that the key factor of the development of personality is socialization and the place of socialization plays a vital part too. Socialization in also very important in interracial dating and of course the geographical location predestines the set of qualities which one will look in a partner along with the stereotypes concerning this or that race.

Geographical location does truly effect how people of different races interact with one another. One of the brightest examples is between the South and the North of the United States of America. A young white woman from the North of the country and a young Afro-American from the South will have a lot of difficulties getting along together, due to the hostility of the South towards white people in general as a race. For instance if two young people come out from the same geographical location which is a multi-cultural area they are less likely to have any kind of problems dating each other. People identify themselves with their environment and two people coming from the same geographical location who are dating each other will have at least the same concept of a relationship, which is set in their area. If an interracial couple has a different geographical location it raises the possibility that each of them lives in a one-race community making it even harder for them to communicate within their communities: they potentially have different interests and feel uneasy coming to visit each other. For example one race community sees a woman as a housekeeper and a mother, while the other views a woman being equal to a man. In one community is normal to greet the neighbors while the other is more isolated. It also creates the difficulty to raise a biracial child in all-white, all-black, all-Asian or all-Hispanic environment. While living in one geographical location makes people closer to each other because their unity is acceptable in the first place as it is a multi-racial community.

Conclusion: A couple from originating form the same geographical location can share much more than the same state codes in their addresses. For instance living in Seattle will not create any difficulties for an interracial couple and Alabama will not greet it, as it demonstrates the “hatred” of the old-south. Basically saying a couple originating from the same geographical location has the same “community anthem”: they went to similar school, had the same interests popular in the area, and had the same inter-racial and inter-gender examples. It honestly does make the couple feel more comfortable and gives a lot to share with each other, including the same interracial values.
